The Fairmont Hotel and Resorts currently have a major “Green Partnership Program” that focuses greatly on the environment and how The Fairmont values the importance of the environment.  They are very explicit about this program.

As noted on their “Green Partnership Program” website (http://www.fairmont.com/corporate-responsibility/environment/):

The Fairmont Green Partnership program allows our eco-friendly hotels to meet and exceed guest expectations of operational sustainability. It focuses on improvements in waste management, sustainability, and energy and water conservation at our properties, and innovative community outreach programs involving local groups and partnerships.

As well, this site explains how all employees are an integral part in this “Green” initiative:

Under the leadership of their corporate environmental affairs division and hotel-based Green Teams, 26,000 Fairmont employees have become environmental ambassadors, helping protect the habitat, resources and culture of the places where we, and our guests, work, live and play.

When it comes to their employees, I found a website that explains how important The Fairmont employees are and how they recognize them (http://www.go2hr.ca/articles/fairmont-stands-out-employee-recognition-programs):

“Each program can make a difference,” Amanda O’Brien, HR Manager states, “Every day, we find someone who’s doing a great job and we congratulate them – immediately – by sending them what we call a ‘Bravo-gram.’ We’ve also created an award we call ‘Nurturing our Spirit,’ which we present spontaneously to an employee who has focused on caring for fellow colleagues.  “You have to attend to the needs of your employees as well as your customers. It’s important to recognize people who nurture each other and make the work environment better for everyone.”
